LAST DAY OF MY WORK IMMERSION

February 01, 2018 was the last day of my work Immersion. First we assisted the nurse, we get the weight of the baby through weighing scale. We observed ma'am Ethel or (ate Ethel) giving PCG to the baby and then we took the baby and the mother from ward 1 and brought them to ward 2. Later on, we observed the nurse getting hearing test to the baby and I'm so happy and thankful because they all passed the hearing test. At exactly 11:00 am in the morning we arranged the files of Newborn Screening Normal Summary Report papers. We also observed ma'am Rudylene making our certificate.

I'm so glad because they let us observed a mother giving birth to her baby, they taught us how to get vital signs, how to get blood pressure(BP), how to get hearing test, and etc.
I've learned so many basic task of the nurse and I hope that someday I will finish my course(nurse) and make my MAMA and PAPA proud.
I'm so happy and thankful for the care I experienced during my Immersion at Andan Maternity Inn, and also for the service, efforts, support, encouragement, love, and laughter. They are all kind, amazing, and incredible woman!.
("To go above  and beyond the call of duty. The first to work and the last to leave. The heart and soul of caring. A unique soul who will pass thru your life for a minute and impact it for an eternity. Being a nurse isn't all about grades, it's all about being who you are. A nurse is not about the pills or charting, It's about being able to love people when they are at their weakest moments.")

18 THINGS I'VE LEARNED DURING MY IMMERSION

"Nurses independently asses and monitor patients, and taking a holistic approach, determine what patients need to attain and preserve their health. Nurses are patient educators, responsible for explaining procedures and treatments. Nurses empower patients, guiding them toward  healthy behaviors and support them in the time of need".

1. If you are a nurse you should be caring
( The best nurses are those truly, and deeply, care for his/her patient).
2. If you are a nurse you should be hardworking
(You have to be passionate about what you do, and strive to be the best).
3. If you are a nurse you should be friendly to your patient, be organized, be emotionally stable, and etc.
4. Blood pressure (BP)
(It is important to check your blood pressure because the higher your blood pressure is, the higher your risk of health problems in the future).
5. Proper hand washing
(It is important because washing your hands is the best way to stop germs spreading).
6. Vital signs
*Process of taking vital signs*
Heart rate(60-100 beats per minute), Respiratory rate(12-18 breaths per minute), Blood pressure (90/60 to 120/80), Temperature (38 to 38.5°c).
(It is important because vital signs provide information that is vital for life).
7. Arranging Birth certificate alphabetically and by month
8. Cutting OS into small square
9. Making a container for medicines by using paper.
10. Lining a patients logbooks
(Discharged logbook, Deliveries logbook, New born logbook, Admission logbook, Phil health logbook, and Referral logbook).
11. Getting weight of a baby in the weighing scale.
12. Filling up the headings of a patients record.
13. Arranging a papers of new born screening normal summary report.
14. How to measure the length of a baby
15. How to get the hearing test of a baby
(It is important to get the hearing test of a baby as soon as possible).
16. Prenatal care
(It is important because having a prenatal care is one of the best ways to promote a healthy birth).
17. How to measure the length of a baby during prenatal
18. How to give bath to a newborn baby
(but they don't need a bath everyday, as they don't get very dirty).

FIRST DAY OF MY IMMERSION

January 18, 2018 was my first day of Immersion at Andan Maternity Inn. I'm so excited that day but also nervous because this is my first time to do stuff like this but I calm myself and used to open my mind of what I might overcame soon. I'm with my classmate Chiara Sofia V. Nicolas (just the two of us).

First we have our orientation with our Immersion teachers Ma'am Rudylene Louh A. Andan BSN, RM and Ma'am Ethel M. Cavilo RN, especially our Assistant School Principal II Sir Sandy G. Yee, our adviser Sir John Marco M. Suazo, and some teachers of Nabunturan National Comprehensive High School (NNCHS) Integrated Senior High School. After our orientation Ma'am Ruylene or (ate Len) guide us on their rooms (ward 1,ward 2, delivery room, comfort room, and etc.) and she giving us instructions. Ma'am Rudylene taught us how to do the proper hand washing, she also taught us how to get blood pressure (BP). Later on, we started to perform our new tasks we get the pulse rate(P),respiratory rate(PR),Temperature(T),blood pressure(BP) of the mother and her baby. We observed the newborn screening (to check if the baby is healthy or sick). Ma'am Rudylene taught us how to make a container for medicines by using paper. They are so kind and I'm so thankful about that. I'm so tired that day but then I enjoyed learning something new.

Every barangays of Nabubturan required to its cottages and I was so amazed on how they creatively presented their balay-balay(booth). Each booth house has its own style, shape, beauty, size, and design.

All of the balay-balay(booth) are beautiful but among of those beautiful booth I found top 2 most beautiful balay-balay(booth). These barangay are the barangay "Pangutosan" and barangay "Mipangi".

Top1: Barangay mipangi present their tree cave because they have so many caves in their barangay .

Top2: Barangay Pangutosan present their coconut booth house because this is the most abundant tree or crop in their barangay.
Simballay festival has improve this year because they put a row of umbrella in the center of all the balay-balay(booth house) hanging with Christmas lights.

HAPPY PARENTS DAY

YOU'VE SEEN ME LAUGHING
YOU'VE SEEN ME CRYING
AND ALWAYS YOU WERE THERE WITH ME
I MAY NOT HAVE ALWAYS SAID IT BUT THANK YOU AND I LOVE YOU💕

Since  my mother is not yet at home, I should write how Parents Day went. Parents day celebration is a celebration in which we can offer our letter of greeting, we can offer our flower and etc.

How the day went?

First, it started with a prayer. I prayed , Dear God thank you for giving us blessings . Lord I wish you may continue showering your grace upon us and also to my mother may you guide her to the path that she take, protect her with your glory give her a good health and this I ask from your almighty name amen.

Second with a greeting I write two letters for my PAPA and another one for my MAMA.
Dear PAPA,
Thank you for your support pa, you've given me a lot, and I don't know how to repay you for all of it. Don't ever think that I don't appreciate all that you have done because I appreciate all of those.
THANK YOU AND I LOVE YOU.

And for my MAMA
Dear MAMA,
Thank you for your love and support, thanks for always being there watching my back and guiding me in the right way, because I know without both of you and papa my life wouldn't be on the right path. Because the most beautiful thing in this world is to see you smiling and knowing that I am the reason behind that smile.
THANK YOU AND I LOVE YOU.

after I wrote the letter, I give the first one to my PAPA and the other one, I send it to my MAMA through facebook while chatting her in this day. And lastly I hug my father.

ONE OF THE GREATEST TITLES IN THE WORLD IS PARENTS, AND ONE OF THE BIGGEST BLESSINGS IN THE WORLD IS TO HAVE PARENTS TO CALL "MAMA AND PAPA".

The "Inakala" is one of the entry of song writting and video making in inter-agency council against trafficking (IACAT) which participated of some students of Nabunturan National Comprehensive High School (NNCHS).The video talks about how female under estimate in terms of trafficking.

        What is the human trafficking?

Human trafficking is a criminal activity in which human treated like an animal or being force into prostitution. Human trafficking includes sex trafficking, forced labor, child sex trafficking etc. Some causes of human trafficking are poverty, lack of human rights, oppression, often differ from one country to another. In terms of poverty people wants to get out of their situations and that gives the human traffickers a chance to lure the victims to another country, because the traffickers lie to their clients , promising jobs in order to recruit their victims. Human trafficking is case to case bases example of this cases is parents cell their children for money and in hope that their children may escape poverty and have more opportunities and better life.

What can you contribute about it?

In this situation the only thing that I can contribute to the victims  is I make a group against to human traffickers so that this crimes will not be done again.
